Alexandre
Thiercelin (Berlin): Conditions, conditionnels, droits conditionnels: LÕarticulation
du jeune Leibniz (IIe Partie)
The first part of my paper dealt
with the way Leibniz uses logical tools for the analysis of conditionals in
order to give a new explanation for both the effect and nature of suspensive
conditions in the law. I focus now on logical gains achieved by
LeibnizÕs method. The first one is a pragmatic approach to conditionals that
results in the precise characterization of a practical relevance condition for
specific moral conditionals with links to a theory for evaluating the
probability of suspensive conditions. The second one is a treatment of both disjunction
and conjunction giving access to an original approach to logic: logic as
processing information rather than propositions.
