Rolf Harald Stensland: Zur Ersatzstoffproduktion im Ersten
Weltkrieg – Schwefelbeschaffung und -bewirtschaftung in Deutschland
During the First
World War the availability
of sulphureous raw materials was an absolute necessity
for the military
and civil production of the
chemical industry. In cooperation with the industry the
public authorities responsible for supply initiated production of substitute
material, so that adequate supplies of sulphur would be available.
This article, which is primarily
based on archival sources, analyses the background, the goal and the
accomplishment of the extraction of sulphur from substitute materials.
