Rolf Harald Stensland: Zur Ersatzstoffproduktion im Ersten Weltkrieg – Schwefelbeschaffung und -bewirtschaftung in Deutschland

 

During the First World War the availability of sulphureous raw materials was an absolute necessity for the military and civil production of the chemical industry. In cooperation with the industry the public authorities responsible for supply initiated production of substitute material, so that adequate supplies of sulphur would be available. This article, which is primarily based on archival sources, analyses the background, the goal and the accomplishment of the extraction of sulphur from substitute materials.
