Clément Bur


About

Clément Bur is Maître de conférences (Associate Professor) of Ancient History in the INU Champollion (Albi, France) and member of the Institut Universitaire de France. He defended his thesis at the Sorbonne in 2013 and published it in 2018. He specialises in the Politics and Institutions of the Roman Republic and early Principate as well as in Roman law, with a particular focus on the Senate and senators. He published several papers on these subjects (censorships, regimen morum, dignitas, honour, auctoritas, laws …).

Bur works also on the reception of Antiquity and published and papers on historiography or reception. He has founded and co-supervised since 2022 a Master's programme in Public History in Albi, with his colleague Sandrine Victor.
