About
Makoto Usami is a professor in the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University and a visiting professor at the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence, Technical University of Munich. He was a professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology after staying as a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
Usami has served as the President of the Public Policy Studies Association Japan and the President of the Japanese Section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law. He has authored six books, edited eight anthologies, and published about 80 journal articles and book chapters in English and Japanese.
