Text files and their names
- Please submit your text both as an editable DOC or DOCX file (convert ODT files before submission) and as a PDF file.
- The PDF file is needed to compare the files during typesetting and thus avoid unintended indentations, paragraphs, or similar issues. The actual layout process is based on the DOC or DOCX file.
- When submitting your manuscript, ensure that all changes in the Word file have been accepted under the “Review” section and that “Track Changes” mode is turned off.
- Please use separate subfolders for each file format (including different types of figures!) and name them accordingly: Author_MS, Author_Figures, Author_Maps, etc.
- Please do not use special characters (“#, &, %, …”), umlauts (“ä, ö, ü”), or hyphens (“-”) in file names.
- Files can be submitted via email attachment, Qiata, Dropbox, etc. Upon request, we’ll be happy to provide you with the login credentials for our transfer server. Please note that we no longer accept WeTransfer.
Monograph
- Be sure to submit your text as a single file; do not submit multiple individual files.
- Please name your manuscript file according to the following format:
MS_Author (e.g. “MS_Mueller”)
Edited volume
- Please send us the chapters and contributions as individual files; do not send a single combined file.
- The files must be numbered in the correct order and include the contributor’s name in the filename—or, in the case of the table of contents, foreword, acknowledgments, etc., the respective text type:
01_Texttype, 02_Contributor etc. (z.B. “01_Preface, 02_TOC, 03_Schmidt, 04_Meier”)
Contribution
- Please use a standard font such as Times New Roman in your contribution, with a font size of 11 to 12 pt.
- The file name should include the journal‘s name and the author's name:
ZS-Contributor (z.B. “ARSP-Schmidt”)
Image files and their names
- Do not insert images and graphics into the Word file; instead, send them as separate, numbered files.
- When naming the files, please do not use special characters (“#, &, %, …”), umlauts (“ä, ö, ü”), or hyphens (“-”).
- You can find more information here
Monograph
- If there are only images (no maps, charts, etc.):
Author_Fig01, Autor_Fig02 etc. (z.B. “Miller_Fig01, Miller_Fig02”)
- If there are different types of figures:
Author_Fig01, Author_Map01, Autor_Graphic01 etc. (z.B. “Miller_Fig01, Miller_Karte01, Miller_Karte02”)
Edited volume
