The Brandenburgische Landeshauptarchiv contains the archival material of Brandenburg’s public authorities, institutions, and people from the middle of the 12th century until the present. It also conducts and promotes research into the middle age and contemporary state history of Brandenburg. The results are published in the series Veröffentlichungen des Brandenburgischen Landeshauptarchivs ("Publications of the Brandenburg State Archive"). This series was founded in 1958 and contains archival and historical reference material, high quality sources, biographical monographs of personalities All in all it provides the reader with a wide ranging understanding of the contributions of Brandenburg to the history of Germany and Europe.
