Barbara Janczak


About

Barbara Alicja Jańczak is a linguist, cultural scientist and Associate Professor at the Institute of Applied Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She is the author of two monographs and numerous academic articles.
She studied in Poland, Germany and France, and has held academic positions at Adam Mickiewicz University, the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), and the Polish-German Research Institute.

  • Language contact and language policy in the context of borders and borderlands
  • Language relations and family cultures in Polish-German families
  • Issues of social and linguistic integration of immigrants
  • Language and identity of the German minority in Poland and Polish minority in Germany

Awards

  • Individual Rector’s Award for achievements in organizational work (2021)
  • Team Rector’s Award for achievements in organizational work (2022)
